Building A Blog Tribe

Published on January 3, 2013 by in Blogging

There are countless blogs out there. I mean, countless. Picking and choosing your way around them is intimidating, frustrating and time consuming.

But let’s be honest, very few of us bloggers aren’t concerned about traffic, comments and activity on our blogs. After all, we pour out our hearts, souls and lives into these places.

We can hope and strive for our links to be shared, spread and enjoyed, but aside from pouring endless time, effort and work into it, chances are we aren’t the “next big thing”.

I gave up my attempt to be an A-listed blogger years ago. I don’t blog to live. I don’t live to blog. But I do value this community and the people in it a great deal.

I respect what each of us empties into our individual pieces of this blogging phenomenon we have created.

Gina, of Mom-Blog fame, blogged about building a tribe of bloggers to build your blog, friendships and enjoyment within the blogging community. So, I’m building my tribe.

What is a tribe, you may ask? It is simple. Your tribe is a group of your people. You comment, read, inspire and support one another.

Personally, my goal is to read every post, comment on as many posts as I can contribute to (I am not a “comment for the sake of commenting” gal) and essentially promote the content, reviews and giveaways of my tribe members.

These are my daily read peeps. My pick ‘em up, celebrate and inspire peeps.

I stopped blogging for comments long ago. But how cool to know you’re going to get feedback from three, four or five people nearly every time you post? More importantly, here’s a chance to get to know a handful of people in the blogosphere and build a relationship with them!

I have had a few emails, Facebook messages, etc. from people wanting to know more, so there you go!

If you are interested in participating in this little experiment, let me know! You can leave me a comment, drop me an email or hit me up on Facebook. There are links below my header for each of these options.

I will get together a welcome letter, an outline of expectations, etc. and we will go from there! Essentially, it is whatever we make of it!

Ready? Set? Go tribe!!

I love this! I used to be so much better about commenting. I need to get back in the swing of things again. I do love knowing that my peeps are out there reading and knowing that they will comment. :)

  2. I struggle reading blogs every day due to work, but I'm trying really hard in 2013!!

  5. Love this idea. I'm also not a "comment for the sake of commenting" kind of girl, but I love reading other interesting blogs. I'll be a member of your tribe.
